ATCC’s Bilateral Energy Summit & Pre-OTC International Cocktail Strengthened Argentina–Texas Energy Ties Ahead of OTC 2026On May 3, 2026, the Argentina-Texas Chamber of Commerce successfully hosted the Bilateral Energy Summit & ATCC International Cocktail at the prestigious Petroleum Club of Houston, bringing together more than 400 executives, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders from across Argentina, Texas, and the global energy ecosystem. Held as a premier prelude to OTC 2026, the summit served as a strategic platform to showcase Argentina’s expanding energy potential, particularly the transformative opportunities emerging from Vaca Muerta, while reinforcing the growing bilateral relationship between Argentina and Texas in oil, gas, infrastructure, and investment. Featuring six high-level sessions, distinguished keynote speakers, and influential decision-makers from both the public and private sectors, the event provided a robust forum for dialogue on energy development, international collaboration, and long-term strategic growth. The summit officially opened with remarks from Ariel Masut, President of ATCC, and Diego Sucalesca, Executive President of PromArgentina, who highlighted Argentina’s unique investment landscape and emphasized the importance of strengthening international commercial partnerships to accelerate energy expansion. The first session, “The Texas Model: Building a World-Class Oil & Gas Sector. Challenges and Lessons for Argentina,” featured Wei Wang, Executive Director of the Railroad Commission of Texas, moderated by Barbara D’Amato, CEO of Trilogy Capital Corp. This discussion explored the regulatory frameworks, infrastructure capabilities, and strategic lessons Texas offers as Argentina continues scaling its hydrocarbon development. In “Delivering Outstanding Results: YPF 4X4,” Horacio Marín, CEO of YPF, shared the company’s operational achievements, strategic roadmap, and role as a leading force in Argentina’s energy transformation. The session “Building the Vaca Muerta – Permian Bridge: A Strategic Partnership” brought together Ross Stuart, Vice President of Land and Business Development at Continental Resources, and Marcelo Gioffré, Supply Chain & Security VP at Pan American Energy, to discuss synergies between two of the world’s most significant shale basins and the collaborative pathways for sustainable growth. The panel “Driving Energy Growth: Leadership, Investment & Execution” featured an exceptional lineup of industry leaders, including Julian Escuder (Pluspetrol Argentina), Javier Rielo (TotalEnergies), Felipe Bayón (GeoPark), and Carlos Gilardone (Quintana Energy), moderated by Gabriela Aguilar, ATCC President-Elect. Together, they examined investment climates, leadership strategies, operational excellence, and the broader vision for Argentina’s energy future. In “From the Field: Operators and Services Scaling Vaca Muerta,” speakers Javier Iguacel (Bentia), Nicolás Ziperovich (San Antonio Internacional), and Patricio Whitney (SLB), moderated by Sebastián Borgarello, Global Head of CERA Consulting at S&P Global, offered practical insights into field operations, service scalability, and technological innovation critical to accelerating production and competitiveness. The summit concluded with an important dialogue featuring Rolando Figueroa, Governor of the Province of Neuquén, moderated by Ariel Bosio, ATCC Vice President. This session underscored Neuquén’s central role in Argentina’s energy landscape and the provincial leadership driving continued investment, infrastructure development, and international partnerships. Following the summit, attendees gathered for the ATCC International Cocktail, an exclusive networking event that fostered meaningful connections among business leaders, government representatives, investors, and strategic partners in a dynamic and collaborative environment ahead of OTC. This remarkable event would not have been possible without the invaluable participation of our distinguished speakers, whose expertise and leadership elevated every discussion; our attendees, whose engagement demonstrated the strength of the Argentina–Texas energy bridge; and, most importantly, our sponsors, whose support and commitment were instrumental in making this flagship initiative a success. ATCC extends its deepest gratitude to all who contributed to this milestone event. As the Chamber continues to strengthen bilateral business opportunities, the success of the Bilateral Energy Summit & Pre-OTC International Cocktail reinforces our shared commitment to fostering investment, innovation, and long-term energy collaboration between Argentina, Texas, and the broader global market. |
