A Breakfast With María Tettamanti

On June 24, the Argentina-Texas Chamber of Commerce hosted a private breakfast with representatives from Argentina’s Secretariat of Energy. The meeting provided a valuable space for dialogue between public officials and key players from the energy and industrial sectors. The encounter was led by María Tettamanti, Secretary of Energy of the Nation, and accompanied by Federico Veller, Undersecretary for Liquid and Gaseous Fuels, and Damián Sanfilippo, Undersecretary for Electric Energy.

This was the first edition of “A Breakfast With”, an exclusive new series for ATCC members. The goal of this initiative is to bring our community closer to key figures from both the public and private sectors, fostering meaningful conversations that strengthen the Argentina–Texas business corridor.

During the event, officials shared the government’s new approach, focused on:

  • Macroeconomic stability
  • Market openness
  • Long-term regulatory clarity

While recognizing existing challenges—such as the limitations of the current Gas Plan—they emphasized a shift away from overregulation and toward more competitive conditions.

Among the key messages:

  • Pricing mechanisms are being liberalized.
  • Investment frameworks are being redefined.
  • New opportunities are emerging for both local and international stakeholders.

The importance of Argentina’s energy potential, particularly in natural gas, was also a central topic.

Participants actively contributed to the discussion, raising relevant concerns around competitiveness, market dynamics, and future investment scenarios. Their perspectives helped shape a constructive exchange and highlighted the value of continued collaboration between the public and private sectors.

The ATCC will continue to foster these high-level conversations and encourage public–private collaboration to help drive sustainable growth and international partnerships in the sector.
