Bridging Argentina & Texas Seminar: Connecting Markets, Driving CollaborationAs part of the Argentina Texas Chamber of Commerce’s (ATCC) trade mission to Midland, Texas, the Bridging Argentina & Texas Seminar & Cocktail — co-organized with the Agencia Argentina de Inversiones y Comercio Internacional and Energy Workforce & Technology Council — brought together government authorities, business leaders, and industry experts from both countries for a day of exchange, collaboration, and networking. Held on October 20, 2025, at the prestigious Petroleum Club of Midland—just one day before the opening of the Permian Basin International Oil Show (PBIOS 2025)—the seminar stood out as a flagship event of the mission, offering a high-level platform to explore how Argentina and Texas can continue building sustainable bridges across the energy sector. The day began with opening remarks from Daniel González, Vice Minister of Energy & Mining of Argentina, and Jim Wright, Chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission. Both underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral dialogue and promoting investment, innovation, and collaboration between both governments and regions’ energy industries. Their remarks set the tone for an afternoon centered on shared growth, operational excellence, and cross-border partnerships. Panel 1: The Permian Blueprint – Building a Thriving Energy EcosystemThe seminar opened with a discussion on one of the most successful energy regions in the world—the Permian Basin. Moderated by Ruth Hughs, partner at Kelly Hart, the panel featured representatives from the Permian Strategic Partnership, the Midland Chamber of Commerce, the Energy Workforce & Technology Council, and the Texas Economic Development Corporation. Panelists highlighted the factors behind the Permian Basin’s success—from collaboration and talent development to infrastructure and community growth—and shared takeaways for boosting competitiveness in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta and other emerging regions. Panel 2: Vaca Muerta – Unlocking Value Across the Energy ChainThe second panel turned the spotlight to Argentina’s vast unconventional resource, Vaca Muerta, exploring the strategies driving its evolution into one of the world’s most promising energy developments. The session was moderated by Ariel Bosio, Vice President of the Argentina Texas Chamber of Commerce, and featured representatives from Pan American Energy, Tecpetrol, Pluspetrol, and Pampa Energía. The conversation delved into the operational challenges and opportunities of scaling up production in Argentina, the importance of efficient supply chains, and the role of collaboration with international partners to accelerate value creation. Panel 3: Challenges & Opportunities of Building & Crossing the BridgeThe final session showcased real-world success stories from companies that have successfully connected business opportunities between Argentina and Texas, embodying the seminar’s very mission: turning bilateral potential into tangible results. The panel was moderated by Juan Manuel Mathias, Neuquén Operations Manager at Duralitte, and featured representatives from Transeparation, Odessa Separator Inc., GD Energy Products, and Tenaris. Each speaker shared firsthand experiences of collaboration, innovation, and perseverance, showing that connecting Argentina and Texas is not only possible but already happening. Their insights highlighted how these synergies can create lasting, mutually beneficial opportunities across the energy sector. During the event, the ATCC presented the 2025 Recognition Award to Mrs. Ruth Hughs, Partner at Kelly Hart & Hallman, in acknowledgment of her leadership, initiatives, and collaboration to foster international trade and investment opportunities, promote business-friendly environments, and strengthen ties between our communities and countries. The seminar concluded with a networking cocktail, where attendees continued exchanging ideas and exploring future opportunities for collaboration in an informal, dynamic atmosphere. Beyond its panels and presentations, the Bridging Argentina & Texas Seminar reaffirmed ATCC’s mission to foster bilateral cooperation, knowledge sharing, and sustainable growth between two regions united by a shared vision for the future of energy. |
