U.S. Delegation Explores Fortín de Piedra During Bridging Argentina & Texas Mission

As part of the Argentina edition of the Bridging Argentina & Texas mission, U.S. delegates had the opportunity to visit Fortín de Piedra (FdP) in Neuquén, one of the most advanced shale gas projects in the Vaca Muerta formation—Argentina’s flagship unconventional hydrocarbon basin and one of the largest shale reserves in the world.

The visit provided a firsthand look at cutting-edge drilling and hydraulic fracturing operations, highlighting the technological innovation, operational excellence, and scale that make FdP a benchmark for the region. Delegates toured the Central Processing Facility (CPF) and the NBR F36 drilling unit, gaining unique insights into the technical and operational practices that drive record production levels.

For the delegation, the visit offered not only a deep understanding of Argentina’s shale potential but also valuable opportunities to engage directly with local operators, fostering dialogue and exploring future collaboration between U.S. and Argentine energy leaders.

The day concluded with a group dinner in Neuquén, providing a chance to reflect on the visit, share impressions, and strengthen the connections established during the mission. The Fortín de Piedra experience reinforced Argentina’s role as a key player in the global energy sector and the importance of ATCC in facilitating strategic partnerships between both markets.
